What you need from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Tis the season because it's that time of year again! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is back baby! This is honestly the best kind of sale because each year around July and August Nordstrom brings in their first Fall products (before anyone else) and puts them on a major sale right away! This means you can get an awesome discount on brand new products.
I’ll be honest, past years sales were much better than this year's. I found this year’s lineup to be a little boring, but it's still a great time to stock up on some basics and essentials for the fall season.
Here are my faves!
Activewear
If you haven't yet gotten on the Zella train yet, then this is your time to hop on board. Zella is a Nordstrom owned brand that closely resembles Lululemon in style, fit and fabric. The Zella leggings are made with fabric that is the perfect medium of active wear leggings and loungewear leggings. In this sale they have a super cute light pink color in the high waisted style that I will definitely be picking up to match my aesthetic. They also have a new style, the Wrap High Waist Crop Leggings, that hug your curves in the most flattering way.

Jeans
Everytime the sale comes around it kicks off the Fall shopping for me, and what screams fall more than Denim?! I mean maybe Sweaters and PSL’s but thats besides the point. So here’s the thing. Skinny jeans are out. Straight leg jeans are in. Topshop has some fabulous straight leg jeans for a very reasonable price. They have some stretch to them but not too much that they fall down after a few hours of wear. Topshop jeans are just premium and this is the time to try them out.

Sweaters
Next up on our list to feel super fall: Sweaters! As expressed in my 2020 trends post, Cardigans are here to stay in 2020. This Cardigan is super chunky and gives me major fall vibes. Pair these with your new straight leg jeans and some black booties and your set! Topshop also has a cute basic white cardigan that is just smart to have.

A few years ago the Wubby came on the scene. If you don't know what a Wubby is, or don’t have one, you are truly missing out. The wubby is an extremely plush sweater that is basically like wearing a blanket at all times. Just be mindful of keeping it clean, and whatever you do, don't put it in the wash! It’ll lose its plushness, just like when you put a blanket in the wash. Dry clean only to keep it all nice and cozy!

The Most Fall Outfit
It wasn't until I went into the store that I found these next three pieces, and boy are they worth it. First off, the faux leather shorts are SO cute, just stylized enough for a nice model off duty look. While in the store I paired these shorts with the next two sweaters, both also from Topshop. The Cable Stitch Crop Sweater is super soft without being scratchy at all. It’s also the perfect cropped length where you can wear it with high waisted bottoms without having to tuck it in. Next the Pleated Sleeve Sweatshirt feels like a regular boring old sweatshirt, with a sprinkle of style with the pleated sleeve detail. Perfect for a lazy day in the fall.

Tops
Fall is a great time to load up on some basics. These three free people tops are easy and cute wardrobe staples for anyone. I am also obsessed with these two 1.State tops. Such a flirty, yet comfortable top that’s perfect for work paired with jeans or a skirt.

I don't like I’ve seen a cuter rain boot ever. These are also just great everyday black booties. Definitely snatching these up.

Love a good casual sneaker. All of these are super cute and I honestly don't know which one I want more.

Summer isn't over yet, and these slides are so cute and a good alternative if you are still looking at the gucci slides but don't want to spend $350+

I love a good knee high boot, whether its a tight to the skin or a straight style. The Sam Edleman boot has an updated look with the square heel. And $100 off, I can’t pass this one up!

I haven't seen many people talk about Chinese Laundry shoes, but they are a great inexpensive yet reliable brand. Everyone needs a good platform sandal and at just $39.90 it’s a must.

Beauty
When it comes to the beauty section, usually Nordstrom provides best selling items in a set for discount, meaning its time to stock up on your favorites.
Each year I get the beauty blender set because this is one of the only times you can get a beauty blender on sale and they dont go bad, so why not?
The Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk items are having a major moment right now, and for good reason. Pillow Talk is seriously the perfect your lips but better color. You can get the whole lip kit for a great price now, so go and get it!

If there is one item you need to get on this sale, it is the barefoot dreams blanket. Everyone raves about how amazingly soft this blanket is and barefoot rarely goes on sale. Get it on a discount while you can. It’s also a great gift for anyone, so if you want to get an extreme start on your holiday shopping, you can't go wrong with this blanket.
Speaking of good gifts, the diptique candles are such a beautiful luxury candle that both smells incredible and looks so chic. This set provides 5 small candles in different scents that you can try out, or just put around your house as decor. This is a definite buy.
